Trade Mission Lands Deal in China

By Alabama Public Radio

Huntsville AL – Governor Bob Riley is reporting success in his economic development trip to China. Riley says he reached an agreement that would allow two private Chinese hospitals to have access to molecular testing technology provided by a biotechnology company in Huntsville. The Genaco Biomedical Products "Templex" is something like a CAT scan for infectious diseases ... and it can be used to quickly detect avian flu strains. The next stop for the Governor and the trade delegation is South Korea where they will meet with automotive suppliers who may be considering US operations. That will be followed by a visit to the United Kingdom for a rendevous with aerospace suppliers.
