Florence, AL – Today we conclude a conversation with Bob Jones High School teacher Mimi Hughes of Huntsville. Hughes has become the first person to swim the entire length of the Danube River. The Danube begins in the Black Forest in Germany and winds for more than 17-hundred miles, bordering ten countries, to Romania. Pat Sanders from our University of North Alabama Bureau continues her interview with Hughes, who describes the challenges of the Danube.

OUTRO: That was Bob Jones High School teacher Mimi Hughes recounting her ninety day swim of the Danube River in Europe. It ended on August 3rd. She spoke with Alabama Public Radio's Pat Sanders.
