Undated, AL – Forecasters say the year's hottest weather yet is on its way to Alabama. Temperatures could reach the danger zone by the end of the week.
With the entire state already in a drought that's wiping out crops and drying up ponds and lawns, the blast of hot air will only make conditions seem that much worse for both people and plants.
The National Weather Service said temperatures will be in the upper 90s all week with only a 20 percent chance of scattered storms in most areas. And the mercury could reach 100 degrees or more. The humidity is expected to remain high into the evening hours, making it feel like it's approaching 110 degrees.
