Hyundai Supplier Expands Facilities

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – A tier one supplier to Hyundai Motor Company is expanding its production facilities in Montgomery. Governor Bob Riley said MOBIS Alabama will invest more than $55 million and add 141 new jobs. MOBIS already employs 825 workers.

South Korean-based MOBIS will increase the size of its redistribution center, plastic injection facility and paint shop. The facilities will serve the Hyundai auto plant in Montgomery and the Kia auto plant under construction just across the state line in West Point, Georgia.

Company executives joined Riley today in announcing the projects.

Construction on the MOBIS facilities will begin in September.
