Birmingham, AL – Birmingham voters choose a mayor in Tuesday's elections. With 10 candidates on the ballot, including two-term incumbent Bernard Kincaid, the issues have been crime, education, housing, transit and regional cooperation.
In 2006, the city ranked No. 4 in the country in homicides and, although murders are down this year, 63 people have been slain on city streets.
