Birmingham Police Chief is Leaving

By Associated Press

Birmingham, AL – Birmingham Police Chief Annetta Nunn will leave her position. Nunn and Birmingham Mayor-Elect Larry Langford had a recent breakfast meeting.

The chief will stay on for at least a year as a private contractor. Her primary goal will be to get the records program up and running. It would allow all police departments from area municipalities to communicate with one another.

Langford made it clear that this is Chief Nunn's decision. He said he expects to name a new police chief within 30 to 45 days.
