Freezing Air Moves into Alabama

By Associated Press

Undated, AL – It's starting to feel a little cooler outside. Forecasters say cold air is moving into Alabama -- the coldest so far this fall season.

For north, central Alabama, a freeze warning is in effect starting this evening and lasting until Wednesday morning. A freeze watch was issued for counties in southwest Alabama.

And it could dip into the 30s and 20s in some parts of the state by morning.

So take care to protect pipes, pets and plants.

A lake wind advisory is also in effect Tuesday for 39 Alabama counties until 6 p.m. this evening. National Weather Service meteorologists in Birmingham say strong northerly winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be prone to capsizing.
