Montgomery – A drive by Secretary of State Beth Chapman to collect prepaid calling cards for use by wounded military resulted in more than 350 hours of time being donated.
Chapman had asked for donations from the public of domestic prepaid calling cards. She reports that the drive produced more than 35,000 minutes of airtime. In addition, Montgomery television station WNCF had a drive that generated more than 9,000 minutes. Those were added to the cards collected by the secretary of state.
Chapman says the calling cards will be distributed to wounded military to use during the Christmas season.
