Former Siegelman Aide Joins Clinton Campaign in Alabama

Montgomery – One of Don Siegelman's former aides is back in Alabama with Senator Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

The Clinton campaign announced Monday that Marion Steinfels is serving as Clinton's communications director for the Alabama primary on February 5th.

Clinton's finance chairman, Terry McAuliffe, said last week the campaign would be putting campaign staff in Alabama because it considers the state an important battleground on February 5th.

Steinfels served as a press aide in Siegelman's gubernatorial administration while attending Huntingdon College in Montgomery. She then served as deputy press secretary for his re-election campaign in 2002.

Before joining the Clinton campaign, she was deputy communications director for Senator Joe Biden's presidential campaign. Biden abandoned the campaign following a poor showing in the Iowa caucuses on January 3rd.
