Mobile, Baldwin Voters Get Early Jump on Primary Election

Mobile – Voting precincts in Mobile and Baldwin counties are open today. Citizens are getting a chance to vote early because Alabama's presidential primary on February 5th conflicts with Mardi Gras celebrations in the coastal counties.

Elections officials in both counties predict a strong turnout today, but results won't be totaled until after Tuesday's statewide voting.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Alabama is among 24 states holding primaries or caucuses next Tuesday.
