Songwriter Curly Putnam Being Honored by Alabama Legislature

Montgomery – Alabama-born songwriter Curly Putnam will be honored by the Legislature today. The Legislature is scheduled to present Putnam with a resolution naming a portion of Alabama Highway 65 in his honor.

Putnam penned several hit songs, including "Green, Green Grass of Home," "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "D-I-V-O-R-C-E."

Putnam was inducted in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1993.
