Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley is trying to promote health and food safety projects during his China trade mission.
He said in a news release Thursday that he discussed possible links with scientists from Huntsville during his stops in Shanghai and Nanjing.
Riley and Dr. Jian Han of the Huntsville-based HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology discussed joint venture laboratories during the China visits. The labs would allow scientists to apply advanced technologies to improve the way foodborne pathogens and other public health threats can be detected and monitored.
