Alabamians Contribute to Presidential Campaigns

Mobile, AL – Alabamians have donated $4 million to this year's presidential candidates.

Records of the Federal Election Commission show that Alabamians have given $2.1 million to Republican candidates and nearly $1.9 million to Democrats, as of the end of June.

Republican Sen. John McCain has received more than $945,000 from Alabamians. Democratic Sen. Barack Obama has taken in nearly $681,000. Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton reported more than $663,000 in contributions from Alabamians.
