Birmingham, AL – Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman has asked the Colorado delegation to the Democratic National Convention to help him persuade Congress to hold former presidential aide Karl Rove in contempt.
Siegelman wants Rove held in contempt for refusing to testify before a House committee that's investigating the former Alabama governor's bribery and mail fraud conviction.
Siegelman spoke to a breakfast meeting of the Colorado delegation Monday and the Birmingham News reported the appearance in a story on its Web site.
The former governor was convicted in 2006 in a government corruption case. He has charged that Rove pushed the Justice Department to investigate him to derail Siegelman's effort to win a second term in office.
