Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley has canceled plans to attend the Republican National Convention because more storms are brewing after Hurricane Gustav.
Riley had planned to leave Sunday for the convention in Minnesota, but he postponed plans due thousands of Gulf Coast evacuees headed to Alabama.
Riley said Tuesday he won't attend Sen. John McCain's acceptance speech on Thursday night because Hurricane Hanna and another storm developing in the Atlantic could mean a new wave of evacuees for Alabama.
