Ala. GOP House Candidate Runs 1st Palin Ad

Montgomery, AL – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's popularity among conservatives as the Republican vice presidential nominee is now a factor in a GOP candidate's bid to win a U.S. House seat in Alabama.

The Republican candidate, state Rep. Jay Love of Montgomery, is running a television ad featuring Palin and presidential nominee John McCain. GOP officials say it's the first congressional race ad to bring Palin into the script.

Love states his support for Palin and McCain in the ad.

Love said he wanted the people of the 2nd District to know he was proud to support Palin and McCain.

A political scientist at the University of Alabama, David Lanoue, says he expects other Republican candidates will also soon take advantage of McCain's popularity.
