Montgomery, AL – Alabama's homeland security director has been elected by his colleagues to a national leadership position.
The Governors Homeland Security Advisors Council has elected Jim Walker to its Executive Leadership Council. Walker is the only elected member from a Southern state.
Walker says the position will give Alabama a voice when homeland security issues are discussed by a new administration in Washington.
The council represents homeland security advisers in all states and U.S. territories.
