Blue Dog Leaders Stump For Bright in Ala.

Montgomery, AL – The leaders of a group of conservative Democrats in Congress came to Alabama to campaign for Democratic Party 2nd District Congressional candidate Bobby Bright.

The co-chairs of the group known as the Blue Dog Coalition praised Bright as an independent voice that would represent the people of the 2nd District and not his party or special interests if elected to Congress. Bright is the mayor of Montgomery.

Rep. John Tanner of Tennessee and Rep. Allen Boyd of Florida joined Bright for several campaign stops in the Montgomery area Monday morning. The stops included a news conference where the two congressmen said Bright would not be obligated to vote with Democrats if elected to Congress.

Bright faces Republican state Rep. Jay Love of Montgomery in the Nov. 4 general election.
