By Associated Press

Orange Beach, AL – Orange Beach officials plan to cut 23 full-time jobs to make up for a $3 million budget shortfall.

The job cuts were approved by the city council and Mayor Tony Kennon Thursday night.

City officials said the layoffs will save an estimated $2 million annually.

No word on which positions will be eliminated.

Affected workers will be told starting Friday.
