Huntsville, AL – The University of Alabama in Huntsville has joined 17 other universities and research organizations in launching the new National Security Agency and Department of Defense-supported Systems Engineering Research Center.
In a statement Monday, UAH officials said the center, based at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J., was created to improve the systems used to develop, test, integrate and sustain complex defense and security services and systems, including weapons systems.
At UAH's Rotorcraft Systems Engineering and Simulation Center, acting director Sue O'Brien says the university is excited about working with the other collaborating universities and sharing expertise.
