Baxley Hospitalized After Fall

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Public Service Commission President Lucy Baxley is hospitalized due to injuries suffered in a fall.

Baxley's assistant, Lisa Parrish, said Baxley fell in Birmingham on Thanksgiving Day while visiting family and suffered a hairline fracture to her pelvis. She said Baxley did not require surgery, but she was hospitalized in Montgomery.

Parrish said Baxley is expected to make a full recovery and return to work soon.

The fall came two years after Baxley suffered a stroke that damaged her left side and required her to walk with a cane.

Baxley was elected to the PSC on Nov. 4. She had been set to preside over her first commission meeting Tuesday, but that meeting was postponed due to her injury.
