Montgomery, AL – House Minority Leader Mike Hubbard said he will run for re-election as chairman of the Alabama Republican Party next month.
The party's leadership, the State Republican Executive Committee, meets in Montgomery on Feb. 7 to elect a chairman to serve a two-year term. That term will run through the 2010 elections.
Hubbard says the party has already begun a successful fundraising drive for 2010 and he sees great opportunities for the party next year.
Hubbard has no announced opposition at this point. State Sen. Scott Beason of Gardendale said some people have encouraged him to consider the chairmanship, but he's not running.
