Ala. Company Accused Of Hiring Illegal Immigrants

Birmingham, AL – The owner of a Birmingham-area construction company has been indicted on charges of employing illegal immigrants.

Prosecutors said 38-year-old Beverly Linan of Alabaster was named in a three-count indictment filed Wednesday in federal court. She is accused of harboring and employing people who were in the country illegally.

Linan owned and operated Rodriguez Construction Co., which performed masonry work throughout Jefferson and Shelby counties.

Linan did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Court records did not indicate whether she has hired a defense attorney. She could be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and fined $250,000 if convicted on all counts.
