Ala. Gov. Sends Gambling Warning Letters

Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley has sent warning letters to the manufacturers of gambling machines found in Alabama gambling halls.

Riley's letters Wednesday warn the manufacturers that they risk prosecution if their machines are found to be in violation of Alabama's gambling laws.

The warning letters are the result of an initial investigation by the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling.

Riley says several manufacturers appear to be involved in unlawful gambling. Riley says the letters will put the companies on notice of his administration's plans to enforce state law.
