Montgomery, AL – Officials of Alabama's prepaid college tuition plan have scheduled a public hearing Thursday in Montgomery to hear from participants in the program.
The hearing will be at 1:30 p.m. in Wesley Hall at Frazer United Methodist Church. A spokeswoman for the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, Margaret Gunter, says the church will provide ample parking for people who want to attend.
Officials scheduled the hearing after notifying participants that the economic downturn had caused the program's assets to drop by 48 percent in the last 1 1/2 years.
