Montgomery, AL – A General Motors dealership in Michigan is featuring U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama in its ads, but Shelby isn't pitching low prices.
The ads by Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac of Dearborn use video of Shelby's remarks criticizing federal help for American automakers. Then the ads praise General Motors and its workers.
Auto dealer Gary Stanford says the unconventional ads are a way to stand up for American automakers.
A spokesman for Shelby says the senator continues to believe GM will not be viable and taxpayers will continue to pay unless all stakeholders in GM make concessions.
