Four Cases Of Swine Flu Now Confirmed In Ala.

Montgomery, AL – Three additional cases of swine flu have been confirmed in Alabama, bringing the total number of people affected by the virus to four.

State Health Officer Don Williamson said Monday a 10th probable case has been seen in a Troy University student who is in her 20s.

He said the student is recovering at home.

The latest case means the virus is now confirmed or probable in four Alabama counties: Pike, Montgomery, Jefferson and Madison.

Jim McVay, who directs the state's Bureau of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease, said the additional cases were identified over the weekend and the Alabama Department of Public Health has received more than 300 samples from all over the state for testing.
