Four New Probable Cases Of Swine Flu Found In Ala.

Montgomery, AL – Four new probable cases of swine flu have been found in Alabama children, bringing the state's total of suspected and confirmed cases to 18.

Four people have been confirmed to have the virus in the state.

The Alabama Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that the most recent cases were found in three Madison County children and one child in Shelby County.

Cases have also been detected in Montgomery, Jefferson and Pike counties.

Officials at north Alabama schools that were closed amid concerns over the flu said earlier in the day they will reopen Wednesday instead of May 14 as planned.

That change came after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it was no longer advisable that schools close for swine flu.
