Montgomery, AL – Health officials have confirmed 27 cases of swine flu in Alabama and probable cases have been found in 14 other people.
The Alabama Department of Public Health said Wednesday it has also received certification from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta to perform its own confirmations.
Of the 41 probable and confirmed cases, 26 are from Madison County, five are in Montgomery County, Jefferson and Limestone counties had three each, two are in Pike County, and Shelby and Calhoun counties each had one case.
More than half of the of the cases are from children under the age of 13.
