Gov. Riley Signs Disclosure Bill On State Plane

Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley has signed legislation that requires Alabama governors to use the Internet to report details about their use of state aircraft and expenditures from their office's contingency fund.

Riley has done that voluntarily since taking office in 2003. He said the new law will make sure future governors continue the disclosure.

Riley signed the law Friday while standing in front of a state plane in Montgomery. He was joined by the bill's sponsor, Republican Rep. Mac McCutcheon of Capshaw.

Immediately after the ceremony, Riley boarded the plane to fly to Spanish Fort, where he signed another bill. It allows a state-run veterans cemetery to be built across from Blakeley State Park in Spanish Fort.
