Montgomery, AL – Alabama's first female chief justice, Sue Bell Cobb, says she's not ready to make a decision about running for the Democratic nomination for governor next year.
Cobb issued a statement Thursday saying she's torn between those encouraging her to run and those urging her to remain as chief justice.
If Cobb decides to run, state law will require her to resign as chief justice. She is the only Democrat on the court.
U.S. Rep. Artur Davis and state Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks are already seeking the Democratic nomination for governor.
