What Have We Learned About Sotomayor?

Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor begin on July 13, 2009. Since her nomination, she has become a household name.

Barring surprises, Judge Sotomayor is widely expected to win confirmation before the August recess.

Stephen Carter, best-selling author and law professor at Yale University. He wrote "The Sonia I Know" for The Daily Beast. His novel, Jericho's Fall, will be out in mid-July.

Dave Zirin, regular contributor to The Nation, for which he wrote the article, "Sotomayor Is A Sporting Judge." Zirin is also the author of the book Welcome to the Terrordome: The Pain, Politics and Promise of Sports.
