Gov. Riley Seeks To Fill State Board Seats

Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley is looking for 193 good men and women to fill vacancies on state boards and commissions.

Riley has posted on his Web site a list of vacant positions on state panels for which he needs to appoint replacements. Riley said members of these panels play an important role in setting public policy and he hopes to encourage more citizens to apply.

A list showing vacant positions and who appoints replacements is also available on the Alabama secretary of state's Web site.

To apply to fill a vacancy or to recommend someone for a board position, call the governor's office at 334-242-7100 or write to State Capitol, 600 Dexter Ave., Montgomery, Ala. 36130.
