Birmingham, AL – The sentencing for the former chancellor of Alabama's community college system has been delayed again.
Roy W. Johnson pleaded guilty last year to 15 federal charges as part of a probe into corruption and nepotism in the state's two-year college system. He was scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 20 in federal court in Birmingham, but that has been delayed until Feb. 24.
Johnson has pleaded guilty to charges of bribery, conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit money laundering and witness tampering. He was fired from the job in 2006 after serving four years.
Several of his former employees have been indicted and sentenced in the last year.
