Pasadena CA – Tonight (1/7) brings the most anticipated game of the college football season. Two traditional powerhouse will meet to battle for the Division 1 National Championship. Alabama Public Radio's Brett Tannehill reports

***

There's a sea of orange and crimson surrounding the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Tens of thousands of college football fans have gathered to witness the National Championship showdown between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns. Both teams are undefeated and Alabama is favored to win. But Texas has history on its side in 8 previous meetings, Alabama has never won. Alabama does have Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram on its team. Six of last eight Heisman winners have played in the title game, but only one emerged victorious. Texas won it's last national championship in 2005. It's been a longer wait for Alabama. It hasn't won a championship since 1992.
