Yesterday, the Santa Monica Pier was teeming people wearing burnt orange for the Texas Longhorns and Crimson for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Among the orange-clad fans were Malcolm and Christy Mittag, who traveled from Woodlands Texas to show their support.
MALCOM-Had to see Texas beat Alabama. We were here at the '06 game and had to come back to see if they could do it. CHRISTY-We're big supporters and wherever they go we go.
More than 90-thousand people will converge on the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this evening for this year's Division One College Football Championship. Texas and Alabama have played each other on 8 different occasions. They've tied once and Texas has won the other 7.
