Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Supreme Court has declined to reconsider its decisions throwing out jury verdicts awarding the state more than $274 million from three pharmaceutical companies.
The Supreme Court ruled in October that the companies - GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and AstraZeneca - did not defraud the state in pricing Medicaid prescription drugs.
The court on Friday turned down the state's petition asking for a rehearing of the three cases.
The three were among more than 70 the state filed in 2005 accusing drug companies of causing the state's Medicaid program to pay too much for prescription drugs.
