Ala. Court Clarifies Judge's Role In Bingo Case

Dothan, AL – The legal battle over Country Crossing's electronic bingo machines is back in motion.

A judge assigned to the case said Wednesday he needed more guidance from the Alabama Supreme Court before proceeding. Concecuh County District Judge Jeff Brock was unsure if he was supposed to handle one only issue in the case involving an expired search warrant.

The Supreme Court provided that guidance late Wednesday afternoon by appointing Brock as a special district judge for Houston County, where Country Crossing is located.

Houston County's circuit clerk, Carla Woodall, said that allows Brock to handle anything in Houston County as a district judge. Woodall said Thursday there has been no other legal action in the case since the appointment.
