Montgomery, AL – The chairman of the Alabama Senate's Rules Committee says he won't put electronic bingo legislation on the Senate's work agenda for Thursday.
Chairman Lowell Barron of Fyffe said Wednesday he plans to propose a work agenda of noncontroverial bills because negotiations are continuing on the bingo legislation.
The legislation would allow electronic bingo casinos in 10 locations, including all four dog tracks in Alabama. State Sen. Hank Sanders of Selma says the negotiations involve the number and location of those gambling halls.
After Thursday's meeting, the Senate won't meet again until Tuesday.
