Ala. Personnel Board Wins In Nationwide Dispute

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Supreme Court has thrown out a judge's order that stopped the state Personnel Board from issuing any subpoenas to investigate the deferred compensation plan that Nationwide Retirement Solutions used to provide for state employees.

A Jefferson County judge had issued the ban as part of a lawsuit that two state employees filed against Nationwide. The Alabama Supreme Court ruled Friday that wasn't proper because the Personnel Board is not part of the suit.

State Personnel Director Jackie Graham called the decision ``good news.''
