Montgomery, AL – A state representative who testified to a federal grand jury in Montgomery predicts it will issue indictments involving the handling of legislation to authorize and tax electronic bingo.
Republican Rep. Barry Mask of Wetumpka says he told the grand jury Wednesday that there were ``a lot of shenanigans going on'' with the bingo bill.
He said he expects the grand jury to issue indictments at the end of its investigation.
Mask choked up while talking to reporters and said the state deserves better than what has been going on at the Legislature with the bingo issue.
Mask is one of six legislators to appear before the Grand jury Wednesday morning.
The bill to legalize electronic bingo machines passed the Senate but died in the House last month.
