Former Ala. School Administrator Owes $102K

By Associated Press

Ozark, AL – An audit report shows a former Ozark City Schools chief finance officer owes the system more than $100,000 in undocumented payments.

An audit report completed in April by the state Department of Examiners of Public Accounts says former CFO Monica Foote was denied relief from repaying $102,170.36.

Ozark Schools Superintendent Mike Lenhart said he requested the audit last year when Foote resigned after she was questioned about some potential errors in at least one school account.

City School Board Attorney Henry Steagall said Foote was a bonded employee and that the system has been working to get reimbursed by the bonding company.

Foote's attorney, Bryant Williams, did not immediately return a call to The Dothan Eagle seeking comment.
