Montgomery, AL – State officials say more than 2,000 people have submitted applications for possible jobs with an oil spill cleanup on the Alabama Coast.
The Alabama Career Centers in Mobile County have had plenty of applications and are no longer accepting them. Officials say the centers in Baldwin County will continue accepting applications from Baldwin County residents for a few more days.
BP and the contractor are seeking 500 workers each for Mobile and Baldwin counties to help with cleanup if the oil spill comes ashore.
