AG Wants Another Probe On Ala. Supreme Court Leak

Montgomery, AL – Alabama Attorney General Troy King is asking Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb to start a second investigation to determine who may have leaked advance information about a gambling case decision. He says it should also find out if there was influence on the court from the governor's office.

King says he was dismayed by an investigation done by former Supreme Court Justice Gorman Houston. Houston found no evidence that anyone in the governor's office tried to influence the ruling about VictoryLand casino. Houston said he could not determine who may have leaked information about the case.

The chief justice declined comment on King's request Tuesday.

King says he lacks the authority to investigate because he can only investigate crimes.
