Challenge Promised If Bentley Wins Ala. Governor

Birmingham, AL – Former Birmingham City Councilman Jimmy Blake says he will contest the governor's election if Republican Robert Bentley wins Tuesday.

Blake says he will contend that Bentley didn't properly report campaign support from the Alabama Education Association and should not be allowed to take the governor's office. A suit by Blake that raised the same issue got tossed out Friday night by a Birmingham judge, who said she lacked jurisdiction.

Bentley calls Blake's plans a waste of time and predicts the election contest will fail like the lawsuit did.
