Montgomery, Alabama – The Alabama House tried to mend a rift between Governor Bob Riley and the Senate over ethics reform. A House committee passed a bill that limits not only gifts from lobbyists, but also the people who employ lobbyists. The earlier Senate bill put no limit on people who hire lobbyists, which prompted protests from the Governor. Alabama Public Radio's Maggie Martin has more on the political debate.
