Montgomery, AL – Former Assistant Attorney General John Gibbs will lead investigations into public corruption and white collar crime for incoming Attorney General Luther Strange.
Gibbs was chief of the AG office's white Public Corruption and White Collar Crime Division when that unit was created by then Attorney General Bill Pryor in 1997.
Strange introduced Gibbs at a news conference Thursday and said investigating and prosecuting corrupt public officials would be a priority.
Joining Gibbs in the public corruption division will be Sonny Reagan, who is Gov. Bob Riley's legal adviser. Strange said Tim Fuhrman, special agent in charge of the FBI office in Mobile and former U.S. Marshal Jesse Seroyer would also be working in the public corruption division.
