Ala. Legislative Leaders To Discuss New Ethics Laws

Montgomery, AL – Republican leaders in the Alabama Legislature will address at a news conference concerns that some lobbyists are looking for ways to get around strict new ethics laws passed by lawmaker in December.

House Speaker Mike Hubbard of Auburn and Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh of Anniston will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. Monday at the Capitol to address reports that some lobbyists are concerned the new legislation puts too many restrictions on how much special interest groups can spend on legislators or other government officials.

Marsh and Hubbard are expected to reaffirm their commitment to the new ethics legislation.
