Opelika, AL – A federal judge is postponing the trial in Alabama's gambling corruption case by two months.
The trial of the 10 defendants had been set for April 4th. During a court hearing today in Opelika, U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson tentatively set a trial date for June 6th.
The 10 defendants are accused of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation.
Most of the defendants say they couldn't get ready for trial by April 4 because there are thousands of pages of documents to go through.
Federal prosecutors say they are ready to go.
