Montgomery, AL – The removal of gambling machines from closed Alabama casinos has begun.
Country Crossing in Dothan confirmed that one machine manufacturer began pulling out its equipment Wednesday. Three tractor-trailer trucks were visible at the back of the development.
Attorney General Luther Strange reached an agreement last week with three major manufacturers to pull their machines from the closed casinos at Country Crossing, VictoryLand in Shorter, and White Hall Entertainment Center in Lowndes County. They have 60 days to complete the task.
Country Crossing attorney Sam Cherry told The Dothan Eagle that the development hopes to reopen with machines that comply with the Alabama Supreme Court rulings on bingo.
